Yes. Order up to 10 free fabric and leather swatches shipped directly to your door, and compare colors and textures in your own lighting before you commit. Every fabric swatch lists its fiber content, cleaning code and rub count. Visit our swatches page to request yours.

In-stock items can be returned within 14 days of delivery. Custom upholstered pieces are made to your specifications and are final sale. We stand behind every piece — if there's a manufacturing defect, we'll make it right.

Furniture built in our Austin factory has a limited lifetime warranty on the frame, European webbing and springs, a 1-year warranty on foam, and a 1-year warranty on fabrics and leathers. We honor manufacturer warranties on items from other brands. Clearance furniture isn't covered, and optional protection plans are available. See our warranty page for details.

Care varies by material. For fabric upholstery, vacuum regularly and address spills immediately. Leather should be conditioned every 6–12 months. We provide specific care instructions with every purchase. Visit our care guide for details.

Yes. Our trade program is open to licensed interior designers, architects and home stagers, for residential and commercial projects. Members get exclusive trade pricing on custom and in-stock furniture, priority production in our Austin factory, a dedicated account rep, and unlimited free fabric and leather swatches for client presentations.

Look for a tight weave with a high rub count and a W or SW cleaning code. Our swatch page flags 15 pet-friendly fabric families: Amigo II, Bellatrix, Curious, Elliot, Merit and Travis chenilles; Artisan linen blend; Bennett, Delray and Villa flat weaves; Dream, Sorrento and Superb velvets; Peyton canvas; and Tropez tweed. Seven of those are also performance fabrics (Delray, Villa, Dream, Sorrento, Superb, Peyton and Tropez). Delray is even bleach-cleanable. We'd steer pet owners away from loop-pile boucles and faux fur, which aren't on our pet-friendly list. Shop dog-friendly and cat-friendly fabrics.

Pick a durable frame and a fabric built for messes. Our Austin-built sofas carry a limited lifetime warranty on the frame, webbing and springs, and you can order any of them in a pet-friendly performance fabric like Delray, Villa, Dream or Superb (all 170,000–200,000+ rubs). Modular collections like the Fluffy and Track also let you replace or rearrange single pieces as the family grows. No fabric is pet-proof, so order free swatches and test them at home.

Our performance fabrics, Delray, Villa, Dream, Sorrento, Superb, Peyton and Tropez, are made for easy cleanup. Most clean with water-based cleaner (code W or SW), and Delray's solution-dyed yarn makes it bleach-cleanable too. Browse family-friendly fabrics.

Performance fabrics are engineered for durability and easy cleaning: ours are polyester-based, test between 30,000 and 200,000+ rubs, and clean with water-based cleaners. Regular upholstery fabrics, especially natural-fiber blends and boucles, can look and feel great but usually need gentler care. Each swatch on our swatch page is labeled pet-friendly and/or performance.

W means clean with water-based cleaners, S means solvent-based cleaners only, and SW means either works. Every fabric on our swatch page lists its code. See our fabric care guide for step-by-step cleaning.

Choose a smooth, tightly woven fabric over a textured loop. Flat weaves like Delray, Villa and Bennett and our performance velvets (Dream, Sorrento, Superb) release hair with a lint roller or vacuum and are less likely to snag than boucle. Leather is another good option because hair doesn't embed.

Check four things: the frame warranty, the seat foundation (sinuous coils or European webbing), the cushion spec, and real measurements like seat depth and seat height. Every Couch Potatoes product page lists its foundation, cushion type, seat depth, seat height and a 1–5 firmness rating, and our frames, webbing and springs carry a limited lifetime warranty.

The best signal is a long frame warranty from the people who actually build the couch. Our Austin-built furniture has a limited lifetime warranty on the frame, European webbing and springs, with one year on foam and on fabrics and leathers. Pair it with a high-rub performance fabric for the longest life.

It depends on how you like to sit. We build several cushion specs, Standard, Lifetime, Relaxed, Ultra Relaxed and Ultra Plush, and list which one each collection uses. For a sink-in feel, the Fluffy uses our Trillium synthetic down, which mimics feathers without sacrificing durability. Each product page also rates firmness from 1 to 5.

From us. We build sofas, sectionals, chairs and sleepers in our own Austin, Texas factory and sell them directly through our website and two Austin showrooms, with $199.99 white-glove delivery nationwide.
